Civil Society Initiative (CSI) is a nongovernmental organization established April 2004 in Sulaimaniyah, Kurdistan Region, Iraq in, to promote the principles of democracy and human rights and works to empower citizens to demand accountability, transparency of the government and to promote women and youth political participation.
The board of directors and the executive committee of the CSI are made up of experienced democracy and human rights advocates from the fields of media and civil society who practically have worked to embed the principles of democracy and civil society in the Iraqi local communities.
CSI Vision is a society in which the principles of democracy and the values of citizenship are implanted.
CSI Mission is to work to create change towards a civil society in which human rights, democracy and rule of law are guaranteed.
