| Youth Leadership in Sulaimaniyah |
Civil Society Initiative will use renewed Endowment support to continue supporting two youth forums in Kalar and Chamchamal districts in Sulaimaniyah province that will help them become fully established organizations and to acquire their NGO registration after completion of this project. CSI will conduct advanced leadership training for the two forums and will continue to mentor their activities throughout the year.
To cover the need for training material related to these topics in the Kurdish language, CSI will produce a training manual in Kurdish on NGOs management, fundraising, and volunteerism and will distribute copies of it to the participants and other NGOs.
To prepare the forums for transition into self-administered organizations, CSI will guide them to broaden their base of members, work in a more structured manner and elect an advisory and a project committee with clear roles and duties, and select their activities strategically to be focused on civic awareness, advocacy, or capacity building. During the project, the two forums from Chamchamal and Kalar will meet every three months to discuss their own activities, share lessons, and learn from each other’s experiences.
